Neeraj is a Hydrogeologist. He is working for the rejuvenation of the Himalayan springs valuable for the Himalayan ecosystem. He is interested in field-based hydro-geological investigations and teaching the local stakeholders about scientific knowledge. His skill set includes geological mapping, geophysical investigations, hydrological investigations and community-level engagement.

The springs are connected with water security in many communities as they are the main source of drinking water for both urban and rural areas. The current project is addressing decline in discharge of Springs in the Himalayan regions. This project is part of the Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC) between several Indian Universities and Western Sydney University entitled with “Springs and their management to mitigate anthropogenic and climate change impacts.”
